Launch of 3D printer gives a glimpse of the future

Cutlery, cups and plates will soon be able to be created at home with a new 3D printer that allows users to design, print off and sell their own inventions without stepping foot outside their door.

Known as Cubify, this latest 3D printer is unlike other similar inventions because it has been created to help consumers design, build and profit from their own ideas. Set to be launched next month, the new device can print objects off in the same way a document is printed off by an ordinary printer.

Although this technology is in its infancy it has definitely advanced massively in recent years. If this device takes off it could mean that people find templates for anything they need on the internet, send it to their printer and have a new item within their home in moments, such as chairs and tables to beds and lamps, in the near future.
