A company have been testing their iPad cases by dropping them – complete with functioning iPad – 1,300 feet from the sky.
G-Form performed the experiments on the Apple iPad in order to show how durable the case is with the experiment so successful that the iPad was still in one piece.
These experiments involved dropping the iPad from an aeroplane 1,300 feet in the sky with altimeters measuring the height of the frop.
Other experiments have involved dropping a cased iPad from 500 feet in the air to test if the device would be damaged as well as dropping a bowling ball on the iPad.
iPad casing has been designed to prevent the screen being smashed when it has been dropped and G-Form are one of the creators of the cases that have been so successful in protecting the iPads from damage.
G-Form’s protective casing is a lot thicker than the iPad cases themselves. There are high-technologically advanced materials which are able to deform on impact. This is because the majority of the case is made from military ballistic material with the only gap being that of the zip and lining.
High speed impacts and Kung-Fu martial art masters have also been unable to dent the material which acts as a skin for the iPad.
As well as making material for Apple iPads, G-Form also make pads for cyclists to wear on their knees and elbows. However, it is for the Apple iPads that the experiments seem to be most eagerly awaited both within and outside of the firm.
