Apple looks set to launch its new iPad next Wednesday after journalists were sent an invitation complete with an apparent image of a touchscreen.
The message was sent from what appears to be an iPad touchscreen and almost certainly confirms that Apple will be showing off their new tablet a day after the iPad 2′s first anniversary.
Apple have refused to divulge any more information except the message which read: “We have something you really have to see. And touch.”
It is thought that the new iPad 3 will be fitted with a powerful retina screen with quadruple the amount of pixels of the original model, while fans are hoping it includes 4G connectivity for American bandwidth speeds.
All that is certain is that the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts Theater in San Francisco is the address where the presentation will take place.
In the UK there will be a simultaneous presentation at King’s Place in London, close to the headquarters of The Guardian newspaper.
According to website iMore, the new tablet will have a quad-core processor to allow the screen image to be enhanced but which does not force software designers to rewrite their software.
Despite Apple refusing to comment on rumours, there is speculation that the company could use their announcement to preview the highly anticipated move into the smart TV market, with either some form of set-up TV box or integrated television sets which can connect to the internet.
What ever happens, the next seven days promise to be exciting times for Apple enthusiasts the world over.
